Karrie is everything you could ever ask for in a Yoga teacher. She is kind, loving, straightforward and real.  She has a sense of humour, and radiates joy in a background of calm, no matter how tricky things appear. I didn’t begin doing any kind of exercising until my 40′s; and that consisted of aerobic classes, walking and riding my bike.  When I first walked into Yoga Bala at 56, I wasn’t sure I could do it – especially after seeing Karrie’s beautiful, fit body. But Karrie suggested I try an “easy class” and I was instantly hooked!  It took me about a month to get up the courage to come to an intermediate class. Karrie says I’m the only student she actually suggested to not come so often, but I couldn’t help myself. I have been going to Yoga Bala every week day for the past 3.5 years unless something out of my control keeps me away. Yoga Bala has become my lifeline, my religion, and the necessary right start to each new day. I’m facing 60 in a few months and I’m still going strong! Believe me, this is something anyone can do and more importantly should do as they age. I even took Karrie’s Yoga Teacher Training course this past year and am now a certified Yoga Teacher! Now that speaks volumes of Karrie as a teacher, and her wonderful studio.  If anyone is hesitant to try yoga at a later stage in life, believe me, it’s the best thing you could do for yourself!

I was hesitant about trying a new studio but it was honestly one of the greatest things I could have done for myself.  I made great friends, discovered a beautiful studio and met my mentor for life.  I decided to do the teacher training because I wanted to teach yoga and in the process I not only gained knowledge on different techniques and methods throughout the training, but I gained a family.  At Yoga Bala, Karrie makes you feel like family and the yogis that attend the studio are trying to attain the same purpose as you in one way or another.  I am truly lucky to have been able to experience this for myself and I recommend this studio to anyone who loves yoga and wants to be around positive and loving people.
